Our deepest and most sincere condolences to the Holliday family. We used to live in the neighbourhood and would always run into Ron when walking our dog. He was an incredibly friendly, kind and happy person, who was always gushing about his girls, their basement theatre sessions, soccer matches, and how proud he was of them. A true family man. Hearing of Ron's passing was shocking and sad news. We can only imagine how difficult this time is for you, as well as for all who knew and loved him. Our thoughts and sympathies are with you all.

We are so sorry for your loss. We were not in contact with Ron for quite some time but I still remember him like it was yesterday. In the fall of '75, I arrived at Widdifield High in North Bay for Grade 10. I'd just moved to town, and knew very few kids. Ron and Gilbert Moore were two of the first guys I met when I decided to brave going out for cross country. I still remember their welcome and encouragement to this shrimpy 14-year-old as a sign that maybe this school was going to be okay. I was so sorry to hear about Ron. It's clear he had a big impact on many people and he'll be remembered by family, friends, and people who knew him for just a while.

I just learned of Ron's passing. My condolences to Ron's family and close friends. I worked for Ron at one point in our careers at Ford. We always got along great. May he rest in peace.

It is easy to find words about Ron with his friendliness, ambition and zest for life. I was lucky to live nearby and often chatted about our Ford (St. Thomas Assembly Plant) experiences, Ron mentioning his classic words "I love job". Supervisor and personality extraordinaire. Zoe, Lilly, Cosette and Marlene it is his legacy for you to cherish.

I'm so sorry to hear about Ron's passing. He was my supervisor at STAP and was a good man. As he moved around the plant moving up the latter he would always take time to stop by and have a chat.

It was a shock to hear of Ron's Passing. I grow up with Ron from Kindergarten at Trussler Public School , right through high school at Widdifield S.S. Ron was always an honest and compassionate person who would lend a hand when asked. Our loss is heaven gains but he will be dearly missed.

I met Ron at Widdifield SS. I remember him giving me a ride in town and asking me if I liked "America". He then proceeded to play their amazing songs. Then I ran into him in Toronto a few years later. We were, merely, acquaintances but these memories of an outgoing, super friendly guy stuck with me. I was listening to "America" recently and his memory came back and I looked him up. This is such sad news for whom I know would have been an awesome father, friend, husband and acquaintance. Condolences for all who knew this great man.

As always, it's a shock to hear of an old friend passing. I too worked with/for Ron over the years at Ford. He was well respected and an easy man to work for. I never knew him personally, as in having a beer after work kind of knowing, but I knew him as good friend and work-mate who reciprocated my respect for him. Good men who share the load as you do your day earn the respect of those who are of like mind and pull together. He always made the day easier with a ready smile and quick wit. Remembering growing up is not possible without remembering you Ron. Like the time we learned that a fridge did not make a good boat down at the creek and you got me free, or learning the consequences of playing at a sandpit and almost getting buried when it collapsed. Many firsts, like when we put a new engine in you car when we were teenagers, earlier days of riding your mini-bike to my first ditching of a vehicle (your dads truck). All through our adventures you were always the calm one, cool and collected. I wish we could have got to know Marlene and the girls better. We will always be here for you and your family Ron, rest in peace my friend.

Working with Ron for 2 years as a co-op student, I got to spend a lot of time learning from him, he was more of a mentor to me. The thing's I've learned from him could never be taught in 4 years of University. You will never be forgotten. Your wise words will always stick with me. I met him once when he was a shy little blond boy, visiting my parents in Pass Lake with his family. I am SO proud of the fine man he became. You were blessed to have each other.
