Sarah Stirling Smith
February 7, 2013
Peacefully with her family by her side, Sarah (Cissie) Stirling Smith passed away February 7, 2013 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Smith (1989). Loving mother of Shirley Bohdanowicz and her husband Alex. Fondly remembered and sadly missed Nana of Michael Bohdanowicz (Sylwia), Andrew Bohdanowicz (Elke), David Bohdanowicz, Lisa MacDonald (Allan) and Sarah Bohdanowicz. Cherished great-grandmother of Thomas and Mae Bohdanowicz, and Sarah and Mackenzie MacDonald. Dear sister of Martha Hood and the late Duncan Stirling, Loudon Stirling, Isabelle Gray, Betty Prins and Fay Stirling. Also missed by her nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours. Sarah was born in Scotland on August 12, 1920, the daughter of Duncan and Sarah Stirling. Sarah immigrated to Canada in 1954. She touched the hearts of many of her patients throughout her nursing career, and this love extended into her personal relationships with family and friends. A very special thank you to Stewart and Connie McCreery who held a special relationship with Sarah throughout the years. Also, thank you to Dr. Shu, her resident, and all the nurses at Victoria Hospital C6-400. The funeral service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Please come to celebrate her life and share your many fond memories of her quick wit and infectious loving spirit. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Children’s Health Foundation or the Alzheimer Society.
