Serge Monette

Serge Monette passed away at University Hospital on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the age of 78. He was the son of the late René and Fernande Monette. He leaves behind his grieving wife, Francine Monette, along with his brother Ronald (Pierrette), his sister Diane (the late Benoit Cossette) (Gilles Lafleur), and his sister Chantal (Ramon Cortecans). He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Serge obtained his doctorate in medicine from the Universite de Montreal, and practiced in family medicine for several years. His life was complicated by multiple sclerosis, and more recently, by cardio-vascular disease and diabetes. Throughout it all, he showed courage and determination, and was sustained by his love of music.

We are grateful for the support received from friends and neighbours throughout the years. Our thanks also to the personnel who participated in his care. Special thanks for the guidance provided by Dr. Keith Ferguson, Dr. Lesley Mok, Dr. John David Kay, Dr. Laura Diachun, and Dr. Eric Chevalier.
