Sharon Mary (née DeBaene) Mytka

We are devastated and heartbroken at Sharon’s unexpected death - for you Wally and our wonderful nieces Jenny, Julie, Kathy and Evie and their families. You have lost a loving wife and they have lost an exceptional mom who could not be more proud of her daughters. Sharon was not just our sister- in -law, she was our true and very dear friend. It is an unimaginable loss for us all. We spoke with her a few days earlier, shared some laughs and discussed their next visit out west. Little did we imagine that it would be our last conversation. We have 55 years of cherished memories of fun-filled times together and were looking forward to many more. She is deeply missed. Her spirit will always be with us. Love and hugs.

I was so shocked to hear of Sharon's passing. I was privileged to have known Sharon as a trusted friend and a colleague. Sharon embraced challenges and implemented many impactful initiatives always including those disadvantaged at the forefront. I will forever fondly remember Sharon's ever present quick wit and inability to tolerate BS! Wally, Jenny, Julie, Kathy & Evie I hope your loving memories of Sharon will help you through this most difficult time.

My deepest condolences to the Mytka family and all who's lives Sharon touched. I couldn't have asked for a better Aunt growing up - she was always so welcoming, loving, intelligent and thoughtful, a very exceptional woman. So many cherished memories of family gathering at her home, our home or up at the cottage. An incredible loss for us all. She will be missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace Aunt Sharon.

Wally I'm sorry for the loss of Sharon. Sharon seemed a perfect wife for you. Due to medical appointments on the 12th, we won't be able to attend the service for Sharon.

I looked up to Aunt Sharon as an incredible woman. Intelligence, drive, empathy, and love. She was the reason I studied preventative health care. Most importantly she was a wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be missed. My prayers toeveryone

Dear Walter, Jenny, Julie, Kathy and Evelyn and families, I met Sharon through my work at the Southwestern Ontario Stroke Network where I provided communications support. I just adored her - her sense of humour, kindness, quick wit and intelligence. She guided and taught me, recognized my strengths and respected what I brought to the table. As a newer mom at the time, I learned from her and admired her approach to parenting. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I will reflect on how she impacted me as a leader, and hope that I emulate that with my own teams today. Wishing you comfort during this time of time of transition. Megan
