To Jackie and her family..My thoughts are with you and your family in regards to the loss of your brother..take care!

~ Sue Breit

Our heart felt sympathies to the Tompkins clan. It's so often said and so seldom taken serious "you just never know". I have a couple of fond memories of Shawn, one riding on motorcycles with Fred and I, at maybe 4 yrs old . Another time I went to see him play in the Oxford - Elgin football bowl, he took time in a brief break to say hello and his hands and forearms where battered and cut. His whole life he hit hard and clean. Jen saw Shawn often when playing with her little brother Michael. We where both so, so sad to hear the news.

~ Wayne and Jennifer Beard

Our heart felt sympathies to the Tompkins family in regards to the Loss .And to them that knew him. and to Jackie and family.

I am grateful have known Shawn as “Sensei”. I would not be the person I am today, or be where I am without having him in my youth; Shawn (along with Fred & Tanya) helped to shape my life. I was proud to see how far his passion had taken him, and to know that Shawn had touched so many more lives the way that he had touched mine. Shawn - thank you for everything you were and everything you have done; you will be dearly missed. My condolences go to the entire Tompkins and Stout families and everyone else whose life Shawn has touched.

~ Angie Billson

We are so thankful we had a chance to have known and shared some wonderful times with Shawn. He was an amazing person not only in his career but also in his personal life. We had the honour to witness Shawn & Fred when they earned their blackbelts many years ago. I also had the honour to work with Jack at TDS and he loved to talk about all of his family. He was so proud of all of them. Our hearts go out to his wife and all Shawn's family & friends. Shawn, you will be sorely missed but never be forgotten! Rick & Cheryl

The impression I get from people all around the world, is that Shawn was a very well respected, and loved individual. The impression I get from the closest person to me, my hubby, is that Shawn was the nicest and most loyal person you could ever have the honor of being friends with. Our deepest sympathy to the Tompkins family and friends. Shawn came a long way from the small town of Corinth and on to the big city lights. We are all so proud of his accomplishments. I remember the day that my son came home and was so excited that he had met Shawn Thompkins and the surprised look on his face when he found out that I had known Shawn, Fred and Colleen for many years. Shawn touched everyone's lives in so many ways. He will be missed by all that knew him, but never will Shawn be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Shawn's family. I had the pleasure of training and sparring with Shawn and always knew him as a respectful and humble man and have learned a lot from him not only as a martial artist but how to conduct myself as a man and teacher of the martial arts.
