Sheila Bodden

June 23, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sheila, a beloved step-mother, sister and friend, who left this world peacefully on June 23, 2026, just before her 92nd birthday. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Sheila brought warmth and vitality to everyone she encountered throughout her remarkable journey.

Sheila’s life was a testament to service, compassion and boundless love. A devoted midwife in Britain, she later carried her nurturing spirit across the ocean to Canada, where she dedicated herself to a career as a registered nurse in psychiatry and dialysis.

Beyond her professional achievements, Sheila was an active member of her community, deeply involved with Westpark Church and numerous women’s clubs and community groups. Her faith and commitment to service were guiding lights, inspiring those around her to lead lives of purpose and kindness.

Sheila found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in tending her garden, which was a lush sanctuary of beauty and peace. She was known for her visits to those unable to venture outside, bringing cheer and companionship to those in need.

Sheila was predeceased by her beloved husband, Granville, whose memory she cherished dearly. She leaves behind her step-son, Sam, and his wife, Diana, along with her grandchildren, Antonina and Addison, who were her pride and joy. Her many siblings, nieces, and nephews, as well as a host of dear friends, will remember her warmly and hold her close in their hearts.

A graveside service will be held on June 29th, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 303 Riverside Drive, London, Ontario. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Westpark Church, 955 Gainsborough Rd, London, ON. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to join in honouring her legacy and bidding her a fond farewell.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Sheila’s lifelong commitment to helping others.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the palliative care team and the staff at Manor Village for their compassion and excellent care during Sheila’s final days.
