Peacefully and surrounded by her family at University Hospital on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of the late George Arnold, and the late Henry “Ed” Mead. Loving mother of Wendy McLellan (Bud), Karen Carpenter (John), Dianna Clark (Bruce), Steven Mead (Mary), Shelley Whitworth and Doug Mead (Sasha). Deeply missed by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Shirley are asked to consider The Arthritis Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or their charity of choice.

My deepest sympathy to all of my cousins for the loss of their mother and grandmother. I have very fond memories of Aunt Shirley from visits when we were children. I hope she is at peace and with Uncle Ed now. Love and hugs to everyone. I will be with you in spirit tomorrow.
Dearest Wendy ... you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers today. Decided not to drive to the Funeral Home last night, although I had really planned to do so. I pray that the service today will be a huge encouragement to your heart as you celebrate your dear Mom. I love you!

May you and all of your precious family embrace the Lord's comfort at this time. You have played a profound part in my life.
