Shirley Lu Wright (née Brennan)
March 2, 2016
Surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 at Victoria Hospital, Shirley Wright of London, in her 85th year. Cherished wife of the late Edward (1986). Beloved mother of Fred Wright of Alvinston and Lynda Wright of Toronto. Wonderful sister and best friend of Barbara Thorne. Predeceased by her brothers Arthur, Leonard, Percy, Fred and Charles. Missed by several nieces and nephews. Shirley was employed at Spartan Canada for many years. After that, she was always busy with fostering children, and later, with day care, devoting herself to many, many children over the years, some of whom now have babies of their own, and continued to stay in touch with her. Shirley was a faithful, staunch member of All Saints’ Anglican Church in London for years where she wore many hats: organizing euchre nights with lunches; raising funds for the seniors in her community; making pies and goodies for church fundraisers; serving on the ‘Envelope Committee’; and heading the Anglican Church Women (A.C.W.) and the Tea and Topics Fellowship (T&T). Over the last few years, she, regrettably, retired and passed those hats on to other dedicated volunteers. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, March 13th, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at ALL SAINTS’ CHURCH, 249 Hamilton Road, London, on Monday, March 14th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Cremation to follow with interment in Grove Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Shirley are asked to consider All Saints’ Anglican Church.

Forever may her memory be love Katsiroumbas Family
Gramma Shirley, you cared for me and loved me when I was a young boy, and I cherish so many memories from our time together, thank you. I am so glad we kept in touch, I was proud for you to meet my wife, and daughter. My new son will know all about you as he grows older. I will miss you dearly. To the family, may you find peace in her memory. As you walk the rest of your paths without her here on earth, take comfort in that she is watching over you. Blessings to all of you. Sean Bird "Bozo"
We are so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Our very sincere condolences to Fred, Lynn, Barb and her entire family. We will miss our visits with Shirley and her Christmas Shortbread cookies. No one can make them like Gramma Shirley!
I was one of the children "Grandma" Shirley looked after for 14 years. From age 18 months until 14. I have many, many found memories of her and our many day trips that we took or sleep overs I had at her place while my parents were away. Shirley was the reason my family and I started to attend church especially All Saints. I am very luck to have been able to have all my found memories I have of her. Especially the Christmas shortbread. She will be missed dearly and no one will ever be able to fill her shoes. I know God was there waiting with open arms and her and Kathy will be there having coffee together. My prayers and blessings go out to the family.
I was one of the many children that Gramma Shirley looked after and loved like one of her own. I have so many memories of her that I will keep forever, and that I am grateful for. I still kept in touch with her even after she stopped looking after me, just that special connection that was there. She met one of my two daughters, and I am so glad that she was able to. I like the others above will miss the shortbread, no one made them quite like her. I have the recipe and my 13 year old makes sure that we make them every Christmas. Gramma Shirley knitted many sweaters, mitts and hats, that to this day I still have them and my children now wear them. I am saddened by her passing but am so very glad that I have all the memories I do of her and they will forever live on in my heart. My prayers and blessing go out to the whole family, please take peace in knowing that she is now an angel watching over us.
So sorry to hear about Shirley's passing, she will be missed by all.
Our deepest sympathy to Barb & her family. I know Shirley was a special sister & aunt to many who knew her. When we lose a loved one, their memory becomes our biggest treasure. I know Shirley was a very special Aunt to Tom Leanne & Avelea. Thinking of you all at this time of loss.

I'm going to miss you...you were my favorite "Aunt" when I was growing up, even though we were not blood related....you were our next door neighbor, my grandmother and my fathers best friend, and you were loved by my whole family. I'll always remember the matching outfits you made for Lynda and I , and the way you always made me feel welcome and loved in your home. I love you and I will miss you terribly...Fred and Lynn, my deepest deepest condolences on the loss of your Mom, and Barb on the loss of your sister and best friend, and to the rest of the family my prayers and thoughts are with you all. With much love and respect Kim (The little girl next door)
