The family is sad to announce the unexpected passing of Shirley ‘Sally’ Rhea Hemming on Monday, July 17, 2023, peacefully at home in London, Ontario. Predeceased by her parents Glen (1987) and Edith (1994) Elliott and her husband Dr. John H. Hemming (2015). Loving mother of Jennifer Jane Rochon (Bruno) and Joanna Doreen Makinson (William). Beloved grandmother of Kit and Onyx Makinson. Cherished friend to all who knew her. Private Graveside Service and Interment of Ashes on Friday, July 21, 2023 at St. Anne’s Anglican Church Byron. Memorial Service to be held at St. Anne’s Anglican Church Byron, 1344 Commissioners Road West, London on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Health Care London – Parkwood Hospital, St. Anne’s Memorial Fund, SickKids Hospital or any Children’s Charity would be appreciated.

My thoughts are with your family as you deal with Sally’s passing. I loved having her volunteer in my Kindergarten classroom where she was “grandma” to many more than Kit and Onyx. She was such a positive person. ❤️ I’m sure she will be missed by many.
We want to honour Sally's many years of service working with the Sisters of St. Joseph. We have made a donation in her honour to St. Joseph’s Health Care London, Parkwood Hospital. We hold Sally, Jennifer and Bruno, and Joanna and William, and their children in our heart and prayers. For Sally we sing: “The hand of God shall hold you, the Peace of God enfold you, and the Light of God guide you home to the loving heart of God.” The Sisters of St. Joseph
