Stana Glavas

Stana Glavas left this earthly realm on Friday, October 2, 2020, after a short battle with metastatic lung cancer. She was 74 years old. It would be wrong to say that Stana lost her battle, because she never stopped fighting. No matter how difficult the battle became, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Stana stayed strong and optimistic. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Stana. Just because she is no longer with us, doesn’t mean she lost her fight. Strong-willed, fiercely independent, thoughtful and witty, she showed her love and commitment to her entire family, always remembering everyone on their birthdays with a card, a personal note, and small remembrance. Stana is survived by her loving husband Dusan; their sons, Boris and Sasa (Monika); and grandchildren Anna and Deyan, Stela and Vlado. Also by her sister-in-law Radmila Minic; and nephew Srdjan (Danijela) Minic. She will be profoundly missed by friends and family members (Varagic, Jovovic, Samoukovic and Babic) in London, Ontario and beyond. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, please kindly respect that attendance to the service will be kept private and for immediate family only.

My sincere condolences to the family. I worked with Stana within the family of Community Living London for 20+ years. I am honoured to have known her and remember her fondly as a very hard worker, kind to the core and a dear person who loved her family and told many stories of her boys and later of her grandchildren and their successes. Teta Stana ce nam svima mnogo nedostajati. Bila je zena izuzetne snage i upornomsti, vrlo brizna, topla, cvrsta i puna nade u bolji zivot, u ljude u srecu i sve one lepe stari koje su coveku potrebne. Hrabro se upustila u velike zivotne promene sa svojom porodicom i istrajno je svoje momke upravljala da ostanu dobri ljudi. A nas ostale je cesto zvala na kafu, kolace i mnogo smeha. I brinula se o svima nama na jedan nenametljiv nacin. Odrastali smo uz teta Stanu i njene momke i srecni smo sto je bila u nasim zivotima sve te godine. Svi mi smo osetili velike gubitke nasih dragih, ali nekako oni uvek i ipak ostaju uz nas dok god ih se secamo i volimo ih. Teta Stana im se pridruzuje, a mi koji ostajemo njenoj dusi zelimo mnogo srece u nekoj novoj avanturi. Iskreno saucesce porodici Glavas zele Nemanja Zec sa porodicom, Rada Zec i Tanja Zec O'Neill sa porodicom.
The world, and your family especially have lost a wonderful woman. I was heart broken to hear of Stana's passing. I worked with her for years at Community Living London, and I have such great memories of her, and I always had a deep respect for the energy and love she brought to everything she did. She always said that she appreciated that I took a chance on her when I hired her - but I saw something in her that I just couldn't let go, and the people she supported and her co-workers (as well as me!) were the ones who reaped the benefits. The last time I saw her was a couple of years ago I think, in Costco - and I was treated to several hugs and a smile that lit up her face. Moments to treasure!! Our condolences to the family. I worked with Stana since she began at westdale. She was always there to keep us smiling and she always asked about her Mike when asking how he was. She will be missed. I am glad she got to so much after retiring. Our hearts go out to you all.bonnie and Mike
