To Aunt Peggy, Tom, Mike, Carol, Cindy and Sue's children and extended family - Linda and I are so sad to hear of Sue's passing. My condolences to Chris and Karen ( Sue was always so proud of both of you), and to all of Sue's family. Sue showed me the ropes when I started at Elgin County. We would drive through the county in Sue's Dodge Dart with a big TV plugged into the lighter, and that's when I started to learn all about Sue's family, whom she deeply cherished. Sue had a big heart. She was kind, loyal, loved to laugh and debate and chose her words thoughtfully before speaking her mind in all situations. We remained great friends through the years at work and beyond, particularly enjoying our many years tradition of dinner and The Grand Theatre together during "play" season. Sue will be dearly missed by all of us who loved her.

I met Sue at Windsor Housing in 1973. I was new to Windsor and she explained the numbering of the streets and introduced me to the Chicken Court and their hot chicken sandwiches and hot fudge ice cream puffs. Needless to say, I gained weight the year that we worked together but I also gained a best friend. I missed her so much when she moved to London but I'll always cherish our great times together. Please know how special she was to me and accept my sincere sympathies to all of her family.

The roots go so deep it is impossible to describe. Susan was part of so many important chapters in my life, and in the lives of many others in Oldcastle. It is impossible to separate Susan from the rest of her family, my second family. Too many good thoughts to count. So rare that there are none that are anything other than good! Love to all of you who mourn Susan's passing and who celebrate her life. Mike

When I started work at Elgin County Social Services, Sue was the person who taught me the job! I was so lucky, she taught me so much. Sue was supportive and patient and I respected her greatly. She was also fun, and had a great sense of humour. She talked often of her family, and the fun and adventures they had. My sincerest sympathies to Chris and Karen, your mum was a wonderful person.

~ Kim Verkuil

I was a brownie leader with Sue (and Beth) many years ago. Sue was a delight to be around, was creative and had a great sense of humour. Even though I hadn't been in touch for several years I was saddened to learn of her passing. My condolences to the family.

My sincere sympathy to Sue’s family. I worked beside Sue for several years at Ontario Works and had many great discussions. We also would meet occasionally with other “retirees” for lunches and shared a few laughs. Sue talked about her family often and I know how important you all were to her. She will be greatly missed.

To Sue’s family. So very very sorry for your loss. I worked for St. Thomas Social Services and knew Sue throughout the many years. She was such a cheerful, fun and hardworking gal and also a fighter as you well know. It was my pleasure to have known her and she will not be forgotten. Helen Hodgson
