Peacefully at Parkwood Institute on Friday, April 22nd, 2016, in his 97th year.  Loving husband for 69 years of the late Eileen Gladys Grant (née Burr).  Greatly missed by his daughter Lynda Lyons (Larry); his son Robert (Carol); and his grandsons, Marcus and James Grant.  Born in 1920 in Toronto, Sydney served overseas in the RCAF during World War II.  Graduating from U of T in 1950, he enjoyed his teaching career at H.B. Living a good life for into 97 years. Most impressive. I can still recall the wise words of instruction and encouragement from Mr. Grant in our grade 11 physics class at Beal Tech in 1973. God Bless.

My dad could never mention Uncle Syd without a smile on his face. Syd was larger then life, kind, vibrant, fun. He was a joy to know and I am honoured that he was part of my family. I hope you and my dad are sitting having a drink together! Love you lots. God speed.
