Terry McGinnes
May 9, 2025
Terry’s life was a powerful reminder of the impact one person can have on the world. His passing on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Victoria Hospital, in his 77th year, will be deeply felt, but his legacy of love, wisdom, and guidance will continue to empower his family and friends. Predeceased by his father Reg, he is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jan, and their children Lisa McGinnes (Kevin), Michael McGinnes, and adopted daughter Tammy Lynn. As a proud Papa of Nadine, Bella, Jake Tyler, and Elliot, his influence will continue to shape and inspire future generations. Terry’s mother Jean, and his siblings John (Tracy), Linda (Jess), and Bruce (Dianne) will deeply miss him. His love for hunting, fishing, and storytelling was contagious, and his expertise as an electrician and member of the IBEW was exceptional.
To remember and celebrate the life of an amazing person, please join us for visitation at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Home on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.

As an apprentice electrician and then a licensed electrician, Terry was an inspiration to me. His knowledge, skill and dedication is well known. His love of the outdoors is also well known. Something else that should be known about Terry is his compassion and open mindedness. I will miss dropping by Terry's place for a quick chat and update on how life is going. Terry will be missed, but his actions during his life will live on in me and all the other people he has influenced.
Jan, Mike and Lisa. I am so sorry for your loss. Terry was an accomplished tradesman willing to share a hand or advice when needed. He was a fun guy to fish and hunt with and always had good stories to share. I’ll miss the chats we had about the outdoors or football. Those chats were too few. It was a great pleasure to have known Terry and he will be missed.
A donation has been made to Canadian Cancer Society. Message from the donator: Dear Jan and family, I was so sorry to hear of Terry's passing. Know that my prayers and thoughts are with all of you. Terry will be missed by everyone he touched. I will remember him with joy, love and laughter. Love Ronnie
Rest in peace Terry. I remember spending many happy Christmas celebrations with my McGinnes cousins. My thoughts are with Jan, Aunt Jean and family. Kathy Hey Avey
We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Terry! He was the oldest cousin of the McGinnes cousins, all 11 of us! He was also an electrical student of my dad Ken Hey, his uncle. He will be missed by the whole family. Special thoughts to Janice and family. Sharon and Paul Montgomery

Jan and family I am so sorry to see that Terry is gone. I have lots of memories over the years with Debbie, my partner in crime at the trailer. You are in my thoughts. Terry may be gone but he will never be forgotten. Jennifer
