Thelma Schomburg

April 6, 2021

Peacefully passed on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the age of 88. Beloved wife of Hugh for 67 years. Dear mother of Carla (Larry) Barnes, John (Jill), and Sandy (Karen); Grandma to Kelly Barnes; and Nana to Alex, Rose, and Chris. Predeceased by her parents, John and Thelma Sanderson; and her sister, Barbara. Thelma was born in London, Ontario on October 6, 1932. In her earlier years, Thelma enjoyed singing with the Conservatory Choir. In her later years, she liked to work on puzzles, crafts, and her computer. Thelma loved to golf and was a long-time member of Sunningdale Golf & Country Club. When mom wasn’t golfing, she liked to cheer on her favourite baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays. Thelma was a proud member of the Classic Tappers senior dance troupe and enjoyed performing for the public. She also loved teaching others how to tap dance at Beal Focus 60. Thelma was a member of the May Court Club of London and the Huff N’ Puff. Mom was proud of obtaining her BA degree from the University of Western Ontario in her later years. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Thelma are asked to consider a charity of their choice.

Dear Uncle Hugh and family, Iwas sorry to hear of Aunt Thelmas passing. I remember good times when mom and I would meet Aunt Thelma to clean out grandma's house then having lunch at casino. I also remember the few times I would go with you both, and mom to Pt. Edward casino and when you both came to put our mom in the mausoleum with Paul.
