Thomas “Tom” Kosir

October 1, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Kosir. Tom passed away at University Hospital on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, after experiencing unexpected complications following cancer surgery.

Tom was born and raised in London and was a graduate of Fanshawe College. He had a curious mind and liked to “tinker,” always taking things apart and putting them back together. He worked for Hydro One for over 35 years, getting to live in different cities and work with different teams. When not at work, he was the planner of our group, researching and booking the next family vacation, planning a euchre tournament, or arranging a pool party and BBQ. He retired in 2021 to take on his new role of Grandpa – his favourite job of them all. In retirement, he was busier than ever, staying active by biking around the city and always stepping up to help friends and family with whatever they needed.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Karen; his children, Brittany (Matt) and Cory (Marlee); and his grandchildren, AJ and Lillian. He was predeceased by his father, Stan, and will be forever missed by his mother, Amalija, his brother Steve (Jacqueline), his nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., with visitation two hours prior. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery to follow. A livestream will be available for those unable to attend the funeral service:

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre through London Health Sciences Foundation, in recognition of the wonderful care he received, or the London Children’s Museum, where he demonstrated his love of children through volunteer work.

Tom enjoyed the simple things in life: spending quality time with family and friends, sitting in the sun by the pool, playing cards and games, and chipping away at his never-ending to-do list. He will be greatly missed by so many.
