Verna Mary Safadi

Peacefully with her children by her side, Verna Mary Safadi passed away, at the age of 76, at London Health Sciences Centre (Victoria Hospital). Wife of the late Kamel Salem Safadi for over 50 years and forever remembered and loved by her children: Gerry (Michelle), Jennifer, James, Lisa, Jason, Cathy (Morgan) and Sue. Proud Grandmother of Noah, Amber and Rayna. Predeceased by her parents, Najeeb and Habeca Aboud and siblings: Abboud (Mary), Zena (Jamil), Elias (Antoinette), Mary (Antoine), Philemon (Mary), Rafic (Essaaf) and Sara (Rip). Sister-in-law of Mary Abboud. Loved by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Verna became a registered nurse in 1964 and worked at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. In the early 1970s, Verna and her husband moved to London, Ontario and owned a successful small business, working tirelessly for over 30 years. During that time, Verna raised her family, always putting the needs of them before her own. Over the last two decades, Verna enjoyed raising sheep, feeding the cats and appreciating the view on the family farm in Appin, Ontario. We know she will continue to smile down with love for her family and wish the best for us as she did in life. Verna received excellent care at CCU. To demonstrate our appreciation and thanks to all the staff, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the London Health Sciences Foundation. A private visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London.
