My first encounter with Vic was as a first year teacher at Aberdeen Public School where Vic was the Charge Custodian. It was clear from the beginning that Vic had very high standards where his job was concerned. He took his responsibilities very seriously and as a result the school was without a doubt the cleanest and well maintained school in the Board. Repairs were made as quickly as they appeared. Vic was never concerned about what department should do the repair in HIS school. If he could make the repair, he did it. He didn't have the patience to wait for someone outside the school to do the repair. His pride and high standards for maintaining his charge was his first concern even though he may be reprimanded.I remained at the school for 27 years and in that time no one came close to maintaining the school in such a high standard for repair and cleanliness. His work legacy,, pride and high standards. My condolences to Muriel and the family.
