I have only come across this notice today, July 25, 2014. Walter and Helen and Brian and Lorraine were in Ferndale Bible Church, Peterborough ON when I pastored there for 7 years. I loved them dearly and found them all to be the sincerest and authentic believers and friends. I moved to Toronto and then to British Columbia so connections were broken. I am grateful to have known Walter and Helen.

Walt was a wonderful Sunday School teacher many years ago, and has remained a great friend ever since then. It was always a joy to me when our paths crossed over the years, whether professionally or lunch together. The wonderful thing is that our path will cross again when we join him in the Father's home. As I am now living in China, I won't be able to be with you for the celebration of Walt's life, but will be in prayer for you. God bless and comfort you! In Christ, Wayne

Walt was such a kind and generous person. He gave of himself and his talent without a second thought. I will never forget the help he provided to me while I was still getting settled at St. Thomas Cemetery and that he went out of his way for the families he served. Walt will be remembered in the industry for his work ethic and kindness to all. Helen, Brian my deepest condolences to you and your family. May God's peace be with you at this time.

I was saddened to read of Walter's passing. He had such a great sense of humour and always had a kind and encouraging word for any who would listen. We have confidence in God's promises for this life and the one hereafter and rejoice that Walter is free of pain. Romans 8:35-39. Our prayers are with Helen and the family for the days ahead.
