Wayne Gary Henry

July 12, 1949 - June 17, 2026

Wayne Gary Henry passed suddenly and unexpectedly while gardening at his home on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in his 77th year.

Born in London on July 12, 1949, Wayne was the eldest son of Ida and Don Henry.  He is predeceased by his parents and his wife, Ellen.  Wayne is survived by his brother Kevin (Lina), nephew Shane, niece Tina and cousin Todd Stewart.

After his studies and travels, Wayne followed his father, Don, into a career at Kellogg’s.  At Kellogg’s Wayne met the love of his life, Ellen.  He was a devoted husband and proud grandfather and great-grandfather.  Wayne was a true friend to Ellen’s five sons, John, David, Robert, Teddy and the late James Martin Wilkinson.

Wayne was so important in all our lives.  He was a gentle, caring and loving man.  He enjoyed fishing, biking, skiing and weightlifting.  Following all sports was his passion, especially his Cleveland Browns, listening to games by radio as a child in the 5O’s.

Wayne loved working on his home and gardens that he shared with Ellen.  They spent many years travelling together and wintering in Florida. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and with Ellen’s boys.  He will be missed by all, especially Sean, Ryan and Blair Wilkinson, with whom he was very close.  Wayne cherished his many friendships throughout his life.

Wayne’s care has been entrusted to Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre.

Wayne will be resting in eternity with his beloved Ellen and his parents at St. Peter’s Cemetery.  A graveside service will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 806 Victoria Street, London on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Murray Sample presiding. All are welcome to attend.
