Wendy Lynn Mackay-Robinson

February 25, 1960 - March 28, 2022

Surrounded by her family on March 28th, 2022 was when we said goodbye to our Wendy. The best friend, compassionate, loving partner (wife) a man could ever want.

Her love, smiles and laughter will be remembered by her sister Dawn, sister Sandra (Kris), brother Kevin (Sue), brother-in-law Ian (sister Karen-predeceased), brother-in-law Billy (predeceased sister-in-law Diane), niece Jen (Jason), niece Alexandra (Darren), nephew Vince (Alex), nephew Adam (Arianne), niece Jessica (Chris), niece Michelle (Josh), step-son Brad (Ally), step-son Keith (Maria), nephew Daniel (Ashley), nephew Mike (Alex), grandchildren Braiden, Jade, Hunter & step- mom Win.

Wendy was a second mother, confidant and friend to all her nieces, nephews and step-children.

Wendy was a fantastic mother to all her doggies that she either fostered or rescued. Wendy loved all living things right down to the bugs that we used to save and throw back outside.

Wendy will be loved and remembered by all her friends and colleagues over her 37 years at University Hospital in London. Friendships too numerous to mention have lasted her whole lifetime.

Wendy’s love of yoga took her on a journey to become a teacher of yoga to many of her friends.

Wendy loved to read; book club members and I knew that this was her happy place.

Although not an avid Maple Leaf fan, Wendy was an avid Mitch Marner fan and a jump over the boards protector of all goalies.

Wendy loved to travel, by plane, train or automobile, and she planned and executed some fantastic trips.

Although I can’t imagine living without her light in my life, I will try to fill her shoes as best I can. I love you sweetie.

We would like to give thanks to the compassionate and caring staff at Windsor Met Hospital, Dr. Mary Jenkins, Neurologist, University Hospital, and all the support teams both medical & Parkinson’s that helped Wendy along her Parkinson’s Journey.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Salthaven or Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario

Memorial visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m.

A donation has been made to Salthaven. Message from the donator: My deepest sympathy to Dan and family. There are no words to express the heartbreak of your loss. I was lucky to train and work with Wendy in MRI when I started my career at UH. Also, I did training with her when I took the PACS course. She had the biggest heart, the best sense of humour and she loved her family dearly. She was brilliant and kind. I learned so much from her. My first shift alone in MRI, she gave me her number saying I would not need it. Well, I needed it, and she patiently gave me her advice over the phone. Whenever there was a snowstorm, she would make sure I knew I could come over to her house instead of driving home to Sarnia. She always went above and beyond in her work, her friendships and her family. I loved talking to her about books, animals and yoga while she turned up Bon Jovi in the background. She was a class act who knew how to have a good time. She was truly beautiful inside and out. I will miss her dearly. Love you Wendy. Laura Schleihauf

When I started as a staff radiologist at UH in 2014, new to Ontario and not knowing anyone, Wendy was so incredibly kind and welcoming from day one. I worked 10 feet from her in the basement through the last 5 years of her career, during which I looked forward to our chats every day, and I missed her so much post-retirement. She took care of my dogs like her own, as one would expect. But she also got to know my kids and took such an interest in their lives and activities (she once called out to the judge at my daughters gymnastics meet when she deemed her score too low!) She gave me great advice about my career and life. I know she was special to so many people and will be missed dearly. Dan and family, I am so sorry for your loss.

Wendy and I loved going to see Broadway shows, and would organize, at least once a year, an away trip to Toronto, where we would stay at the Sheraton Hotel, enjoy walking all over downtown Toronto, eating great meals, having wonderful time together and a great show. It was great to be friends with Wendy - she was just so darned enjoyable to be with. Except she wanted me to move to Belle River and I wanted her to move to Ottawa. :-) Dan, treasure the wonderful memories together. You are a great couple.

~ Susan Mailer

Awww Dan, I am just so very sorry for your loss. I cannot begin to image your pain. My sincere condolences to you and your family. May you always wrap yourself up in the warm memories you have. Cheryl(Global Time)

It was both an honour and a privilege to have known you Wendy! R.I.P. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal Love leaves a memory no one can steal ❤️

~ Ann Birkin

Our heartfelt condolences to Dan and all of Wendy’s family and friends. We are so thankful to have had such a kind and generous friend. We first met Wendy in the early 90’s when she was volunteering for Big Sisters. Over the years, along with our friends, Judy and Carol Lynn, we enjoyed many dinner outings and shared lots of laughs out on the golf course. Wendy’s love for family, animals, books, travel, yoga, and her overall kindness to people will be etched in our hearts forever. We love you Wendy and we are going to miss you!🙏

~ Joyce & Janet Donais

Wendy was already a presence when I started as a staff radiologist close to 30 years ago at UH. I watched her move from CT to MR and finally to the PACs team which is where I was fortunate enough to really get to know her best. I could always count on Wendy to get me through my many, many (!) PACs technical challenges for which I am forever grateful to her. More importantly, I always enjoyed our chats about life outside of work. We have lost a special member of our UH radiology family. Sincere condolences to the Robinsons and Mackays.

Wendy came into my life in 2014 when I joined the PACS Team, Wendy was a wealth of knowledge, a very good listener and gave great advice. Wendy taught me so much. She was loved by everybody she met. Dan and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. She was one in a million. Love you my beautiful friend.

~ Libby Sutherland

I first met Wendy at St. Joe’s, when she was an X-Ray student, where her kindness and compassionate care shone bright. We re-connected years later when we both were working at UH. Wendy kindly invited me to teach yoga at her sweet home studio and was always so supportive and encouraging. I was fortunate to be part of her bookclub where we all enjoyed many laughs, annual getaways, and managed to discuss a few books along the way. Dan, my deepest condolences to you and the family. The world has lost a genuinely beautiful soul! Love and miss you Wendy! Namaste

My deepest condolences to Wendy's family, My mother in-law and I attended Wendy's neighbourhood yoga sessions every week for many years. Wendy helped us to stretch and bend our stresses away. May she rest in peace.

~ Sonya Thompson

I was lucky enough to work with Wendy for over 30 years. She was an amazing technologist. I was even more fortunate to become her friend. Wendy was one of the few people I trusted to look after my dogs. She was one in a million. I am so happy that she and Dan found each other after all those years. Love you Wendy!

~ Karen Kennedy

When I look at my two dogs I always have, and always will think of Wendy's advice that dogs get easier as you add more of them (she was right) I can't imagine just having one again. She taught me so much as I came into the MRI department. She was a dynamic, loving, compassionate technologist and go figure the same type of person outside of work. Dan, I'm so sorry for your loss. I sure will miss you Mrs. Robinson.

~ Nick Sawyer

So sad to hear of the passing of Wendy. She is gone too soon! I had the privilege of working with her at UH in CT for many years. She was a genuine special soul with her respect of every living thing in this world. I remember her love of Bon Jovi and of having lots of laughs at work, movie nights and pot luck dinners. Wendy left a legacy of love and kindness and will be sorely missed.

~ Kathy Parker

The world lost a beautiful soul. Many great memories were made working with Wendy. Lots of laughs and tears were shed around the MRI scanner. My thoughts and prayers go out to you Dan, she will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Love you and miss you Wendy.

~ Michelle Smith

I only connected with Wendy and her sister Sandra a few short years ago through Ancestry and was so happy to be related to such lovely ladies. Wendy treated me like she knew me forever and I will treasure our short time getting to know one another. Rest In Peace my dear cousin.
