William (Bill) Timmermans
August 4, 1944 - May 6, 2025
William (Bill) Timmermans, of Delaware, Ontario, in his 81st year, suddenly and tragically passed away on May 6, 2025. Beloved husband of Jennifer Timmermans (née Chaloner), loving father of Robert (Janine), Steven (Cathy), and Natalie Timmermans (Casey). Loving grandfather of Keirsten and Katrina, Andrew and Sarah, and Ella and Emelyn. Bill is survived by brothers Jack and Rini, and sisters Cathy, Anne (Ralph), and Lorraine (Bob). Bill was predeceased by his sister Maryanne (Jim), sisters in-law Julie (Jack) and Margaret (Rini), and brother in-law Leo (Cathy). He was a loving and devoted brother, father and grandfather, who was fiercely loved and adored by his children and grandchildren.
Bill was born August 4, 1944, in Diessen, Holland, oldest son of the late Adrian and Mary Timmermans, who immigrated to Canada in the early 1950s. Bill was a prominent member of the Delaware community, and a distinguished entrepreneurial businessman. Bill’s passions were many. He was unique in his ability to make his joys and leisures his life’s work, and he instilled and passed these traits onto his children. After retiring from a family-owned excavating company, Bill envisioned and transformed the beautiful family estate property to become Hickory Ridge Golf and Country Club, which flourished and garnered countless former and new friendships and joyful experiences over the last 30 years. Bill’s deepest passions were equally fishing and hunting, followed by golf, depending on the time of year, and these activities similarly culminated and galvanized eternally lasting friendships and fellowships that will continue to be passed along. One would find Bill either at the cottages at Port Lambton, where he is credited for having founded yet another family- and friend-based leisure community at the forks of the St. Clair River and Snye River Bluewater paradise, or, at home where ‘home’ included the Hickory Ridge family, Woodhull Road neighbourhood, and close-knit network of family and friends. However, through winter months, Bill would be found either hunting deer, or devoutly with his fellowship, Bill would be found tracking and hunting coyotes with his cherished hound dogs.
For those wishing to make a donation in Bill’s name, please consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
A private family funeral service will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, which will be announced well in advance of the event.

We are deeply saddened and heartbroken!…. Our most sincerest condolences to the entire Family… We will miss him deeply! We couldn’t have asked for better neighbours in Port Lambton. We will miss watching him go out in his boat on his way fishing…every morning and evening and saying “good luck Bill” and then everytime he returned we’d ask “ well, how did ya do Bill” He would smile and hold up his fingers as to how many he caught! He loved his fishing!… Please know that caring thoughts and heartfelt sympathy are with you Jenny and your family!❤️
