Dear Butler Family It is with great sadness and heartfelt sympathy that I extend my sincerest condolences to you all at this time of deep sorrow. To all of the many dear friends that Bill touched over the years, he was a very special man indeed. I had the great pleasure to work with Bill while at Pro Resp, he based in London and I in Toronto, both as RRT, s. Bill's extensive knowledge in both Home Respiratory Care and business operations and management helped me greatly. A dear man with a great sense of humor and timing, many zingers, especially when not expected!! I shall remember him fondly for his professionalism, compassion and friendship. A true gentleman! Rest in Peace, Billy Boy! Sincerely John Carinci

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Bill's passing. He and I worked together at University Hospital when it opened. I knew Bill through his long tenure at Pro Resp Inc. He referred to himself as "Employee 1" and was instrumental in the company's growth and success in those early years. I am saddened to learn of his untimely death. May God provide comfort to his family at this difficult time.

~ Mike Pohanka

I am very sorry to hear of Bill’s death. He was a wonderful, caring man who helped those who asked for his expertise and knowledge in many areas. I will miss his many jokes and “groaners”. It will be very sad not to see him on the treadmill with us solving the world problems and relating fishing tales. I also enjoyed the many breakfasts we share at Angels. Especially all the fun talking about bacon. Rest in peace, Bill. My prayers and thoughts are with you, Carol. May you find peace in the many stories and thoughts from friends. Blessings to all your family. John Langford

Dear Carol and family, We are so saddened to hear of Bill’s passing. Sarah gave us the message that he was in the hospital and you have both been in our thoughts and prayers since. We’re so very sorry we weren’t home to say goodbye to the Greatest Handyman. He was one of the kindest men this world has ever known and he will always be remembered for his quick wit and generosity.

We're all a little sadder today after hearing the news about Bill. I first met him in the late 70's while working as an RT at Trudell Medical and our friendship stuck through many employer changes and career directions. He was a great sounding board and had a wry sense of humour. I'll miss him dearly. Rest gently old friend.

Our condolences to the family. We are so thankfull for so much love and dedication Bill gave to our daughter Sheila and family. Now beside our Father, we will never forget how talented he was. He fabricated toys for his and our grandchildren. Rita and Helio.

Bill was part of our Gym Rats family. There was always a day when his smile, laughter and infectious wit made our treadmill debates the best way to start the day. Bill had a joke for every occasion and a string of thoughts that took the even the smallest of comments to new and imaginative heights. His passing has left an enormous hole in our hearts and in the universe. He was as unique as they come; as giving and caring as you could ever want in a friend. We will forever miss him. Our blessings and our thoughts are with Carol, his family and the grandchildren he loved so dearly.

The neighbourhood is a sadder , lonelier place today. We have lost a friendly, helpful person with a great sense of humour. We are grateful for his helping hand through the years. We will truly miss Bill and his spark. Bill you can sleep in now and not have to get up early to go to the gym. You can now rest peacefully. Bill you, your wife Carol , and family are in our thoughts with profound sadness. Bill goodbye, we will miss you. Al and Farida.

Hi Carol - I was sorry to read the passing of Bill in the London Free Press - I had only met him a couple of times when walking with Celeste - but he did not seem sick at all. I hope he passed easily and did not suffer. I am so sorry for your loss - please extend my condolences to your sons.

~ Mary Cammaert

Dear Carol, My heartfelt condolences on Bill's passing to you and your family. I believe the last time I saw you was 7 years ago when you were at Westview making arrangements for Bill's Mom. Going back 33 years or so ago, I remember Bill as the primary leader of the 57th Beaver scouts operating out of Brick Street. Bill was patient, kind, helpful, quiet spoken and so very good with all the children. My son, Jason Hrick, enjoyed the time he spent with the group. As a single Mom, I never felt unwelcome with attending any of the group activities as Bill told me that parental participation was beneficial, even on one extremely rainy and cold 'Apple Day'! Again, my sincere condolences to you.
