Deepest sympathy to Carolyn, Dianne & Ruth on the home-call of my beloved brother, Roy. How I shall miss hearing his voice in those many phone calls that we had & on the many holidays we shared with him and his family. We know he is now at home with the Lord.

Carolyn, Dianne, Ruth & families .... We're saddened that Roy isn't with us down here, yet, we do rejoice with Roy, as we realize that what he is experiencing now, is far greater! Roy's smile as he looks into the face of the Master ... "Oh, that will be glory!" Remembering Roy as a gentle giant, knowing what he believed in, one of wisdom & understanding. He will be missed. We enjoyed our times out to the Fish & Chip places. Your presence at both our milestone birthday dinners, & coming down to Sunnybreeze Christian Fellowship (down south) to see us. We'll never forget. Roy is in the presence of the Lord now ... no more suffering. Our memories will be sweet to think upon, because we knew him. Our prayers for this special family will continue. ~ Richard & Sharon Van Hoffen

Carolyn and your loving family: It was a honour to serve with Roy on the London Police Service . He was well respected as a Sergeant on the London Police Service, and a good friend. Needless to say, he was very proud of his family, and his memory will live on with those who had the pleasure of working with him. Rick Niles (Ret. Sgt. 1969-2002). PS. Bryan Anthony certainly shares my sentiments of your family, as he was the first to call me about the passing of your wonderful husband. Respectfully yours, Rick & Lynda Niles.

I was very sorry to hear of Roy’s passing. I first met him when I started on the Police Service and he was always someone you could approach if you needed advice. I remember having some of those night shift conversations when we were both trying to keep awake. The other thing I remember for some reason is his smile. Roy was a good man and he will be missed.

~ Bob Gray

I met Roy years ago when I was a young constable with the London Police Service and Roy was a sergeant. I knew him as a kind, steady and approachable man. I'm happy that he got to enjoy some good years in his retirement. Please except my sincere condolences.

Sharon and I knew Roy and the family from Wortley Baptist from the time of the family's arrival in '71. It was a great pleasure to know Roy, Jo, Carolyn, Ruth and Dianne. Roy was always a good companion in discussions. His thoughtfulness and his sense of humour were always welcome. It was easy to see his integrity and the qualities that would make him an excellent policeman and leader. God bless you all in this time of loss.
